Our Services
Welcome!
The Refugee Centre Hamburg (Flüchtlingszentrum) is a non-profit-organisation of the regional branches of the Workers’ Welfare Association (Arbeiterwohlfahrt), the Caritas Association (Caritas), and the German Red Cross (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz).
Our facilities and services are designed for asylum seekers, refugees, people with insecure residence status and people without residence documents ("sans papiers").
We offer comprehensive and personal advice on procedures under asylum and immigration law and on questions of employment, training and qualification.
Through individual or group services we support people in finding orientation when faced with everyday questions and when dealing with official bodies and institutions.
Below are some examples of various projects we have to offer.
We inform about intensive German courses under the Hamburg program “Deutschkurse für Flüchtlinge”. In addition, we offer counselling concerning individual perspectives in Germany.
People without residence documents and EU citizens receive support concerning access to health care and medical assistance. This includes the clarification of their residence status and the availability of health insurance.
People interested in returning to their home countries receive qualified and open-ended information and advice on the possibilities and conditions of a voluntary return. We inform about schemes for financial aid and offer support in preparing and organising their return. Advice on return is available to all migrants and refugees irrespective of their residency status.
We are an intercultural team and can provide advice in the following languages:
Arabic, Bosnian, Croatian, Dari, English, Farsi, French, German, Italian, Kurdish-Sorani, Pashto, Polish, Russian, Serbian, Somalian, Spanish, Ukrainian and Urdu.
